As the flagship location of the Orange County Library System, the Orlando Public Library has served the community since 1966 (tracing back to the original Albertson Library of 1923). Housed in a sprawling four-story facility, it’s home to several major public departments—including the Children’s Library, Library Central, Learning Central, and the celebrated Melrose Center for Technology, Innovation & Creativity on the second floor.
Families and caregivers will find a welcoming space filled with:
Interactive storytimes like Tiny Tales for babies, Toddler Time, and Storybook Fun on Saturdays
Public computers, Wi‑Fi stations, scanners, printers, a book drop, and passport application services with drive-up drop-off
Special collections on floors such as the Disney and Florida archives, plus microfilm readers for local history research
Rooms & Studios, including six-person study rooms bookable with your library card, and multi-purpose event spaces for community groups
Free classes & events for all ages—from robotics and computer basics to crafts, language classes, family yoga, Dungeons & Dragons, and STEAM storytimes
With its blend of culture, tech, early learning, and public services, the Orlando Public Library is a vibrant destination for families and the wider community to explore, learn, and connect.
